A visit to the Science Museum

On a bright and sunny November 4th, year 3 and 4 headed off to Eureka, the Science Museum in San Sebastian.

As each class is studying concepts about the Universe in English class and in Science, it was the ideal place to visit and deepen our knowledge in this area. Students participated very actively in workshops, additionally, the students in year 4 attended a workshop on animals which was very exciting. Both classes also had the opportunity to watch a film in English. This was a new event as the museum usually shows their documentaries and films in Spanish or Basque. We were very grateful for this and the children really enjoyed it. Some students commented that it was the best cinema in Guipukoa as the seats were extremely comfortable and the digital dome screen was spectacular. The films were so informative that no one fell asleep, not even the teachers!

Later on we were also allowed to visit the museum to observe different objects, instruments and machines which were very interesting. We are lucky to have such a prestigious establishment at our doorstep which we can visit as a school or as a family.Once again the staff and monitors did everything possible to make our trip enjoyable and fun.

We had a wonderful trip to Eureka, we all learned quite a lot as it was the perfect place to consolidate what we have been studying this term.

Who knows, maybe next year we might go to Mars……..or maybe we’ll discover a new planet and visit that instead.
