A stellar visit to Estella

The first year of Secondary enjoyed superb weather on their visit to Estella on the week beginning 16th May. After leaving school at 8.45 on Monday, they took in dolmens near Salvatierra before taking the steep climb up to Urbasa by coach. A chilly mid-morning start was soon shaken off thanks to a brisk walk through the beech wood and a spot of lunch.

The campsite at Estella proved an ideal location for the two-night stay. A Tuesday morning walk into Estella and a rally of the town was enjoyed under warm sunshine. In the afternoon, it was up to the Iratxe bodega and monastery, and then the return to the campsite where pupils took advantage of the swimming-pool to cool off and relax.

On the third day, it was back up to Ubasa-Andía, where pupils visited a cave and did a little orienteering, and the return to school.
